Building The Perfect Skincare Routine
“Be good to your skin, you’re going to be wearing it for the rest of your life.”
Why should you invest in the perfect skincare routine? Your skin performs many functions, it acts as a barrier from harmful external materials and helps you regulate your internal temperature levels. On top of this, looking after your skin can give you extra confidence when you achieve visible results!
However, with so many skincare products flooding the market, it can be difficult to determine which ones are natural and are suitable for your specific skin type! That is why we have come up with the perfect step by step day-time skincare guide that shows you which products are the best option for you. At Fether, we cater for everyone, from skincare beginners to skincare gurus, that’s why we have included a basic essentials routine for essentials and extra add ons for our skincare fanatics!
1. Cleanser: Essential
An essential step for your skincare regime is to cleanse. Cleansing cleans your pores from the build up of dirt that might have entered your skin throughout the day. This means that facial cleansers have the ability to remove make-up, dead skin cells and other pollutants in your skin. Making sure to cleanse your face will also prepare your skin for the rest of your skincare routine.
Since cleanser is the first step and arguably the most well known skincare routine, people tend to think of this product as something that needs to be harsh to purify the skin. But, since this step is done everyday, morning and night, your cleanser should be gentle to avoid overdrying your skin. That is why we have formulated the Gentle Gel Cleanser that is infused with Juniper Berry and Lime Essential Oils.
2. Exfoliator: Essential
To remove any dead skin cells on the surface of your skin, an exfoliator is used. Minimising dead skin cells allows for the rejuvenation of new skin cells, that will add a fresh look to your skin and cause a glowing complexion. Our Exfoliating Oat Mask includes Raw Oats and Coconut Powder and should be used twice a week.
3. Tone: Essential
Toner is another essential step in everyone’s skincare routine. This second step is designed to eliminate any impurities left in your skin after cleansing that might have been stuck in your pores, such as a build up of dirt. While removing build up in the pores, repeated use of a toner in your skincare routine can shrink the size of your pores as well. A toner’s ability to minimise the size of your pores helps tighten your skin and can also reduce the effects of aging. On top of this, toners balance the pH levels of your skin and prepares your skin for the next steps.
Try to avoid toners that include alcohol as this can damage your skin and lead to dehydration. Our Hydrating Toner includes natural active enzymes that will leave you with glowing skin and dissolve dead skin cells from the surface of your skin.
4. Serum: Add on
This step is for any skincare gurus or anyone who wants to develop a flawless skincare routine. This product reaches the deepest layer of your skin and can be applied directly to your face and rubbed in without washing. Serums are used to target specific skincare goals as they include active ingredients that are chosen for specific uses. For example, to remove dark spots, you can try to use a brightening serum that includes Vitamin C. If you have a goal of anti-ageing, you should purchase a serum that includes collagen and Hyaluronic Acid. These three ingredients are included in our Anti-Ageing Collagen Serum that includes smaller molecules that can deeply penetrate your skin to make a lasting improvement.
5. Eye Cream: Add on
Eye creams are becoming increasingly more popular due to the increased awareness of just how sensitive the skin around our eyes are. The skin around your eyes has the texture of tissue paper, and as a result can be easily “crumpled” or in the skin’s case, creased. On top of this, stress and irregular sleeping patterns can cause excess fluids to be collected under the eye which can cause dark under eye circles and puffiness.
Eye creams can moisturise the area around your eye and address all these issues. Our Anti-Ageing Eye Cream works hard to combat these concerns and contains Cucumber Oil that reduces puffiness and Native Lemon Aspen to minimise dark circles.
6. Moisturiser: Essential
Moisturising your skin after the above steps is essential to add the moisture back into your skin after giving it a proper clean. Moisturisers should be used morning and night, our Hydrating Daily Moisturiser will moisturise your skin and also includes Papaya and Willow Bark that dissolves dead skin cells.
